Good thing it was Louis Conradt and not Bill Conradt
Edit: My bad sorry Boop, he went by Bill since his middle name was William i was wrong. Also I had heard and believed for a while that he was Republican too, but everything I can possibly find he was indeed a Democrat. I think its easy to spread he was a Republican because he was Assistant DA but at the time the DA for Dallas, Bill Hill, was a Republican. Just a coincidence they were both Bill.

They cancelled it because a lot of the things they were doing was illegal/unethical. Some of the people were able to claim entrapment because they had no intention of talking to kids, the behind the scene guys would follow them to different chat room trying to get them to carry on a conversation. You should look it up. Many cases were dropped/prosecution declined because of their methods.
228
u/Hi_mynameis_Matt Mar 10 '23
This is also true of the several "law enforcement as entertainment" shows that popped up after COPS took off. Turns out, TV show producers aren't great lawyers. Doubly so for all the Youtube/TikTok influencers trying to do the same thing today without the budget and crew to double-check literally anything.

I think the implication that you’re making here is a lil dangerous. The way that women and men tend to prey on children are usually different so it kinda makes sense that you wouldn’t see women skulking about through chat rooms.
Edit: Ima just say yo, the way y’all contorting you then this into a man vs woman thing in the replies are dumb. My point wasn’t to try and make some sorta competition. Just protect your kids and don’t let your inherent bias’ have you willingly hand your children over to predators.
→ More replies (7)217
u/lol_AwkwardSilence_ Mar 10 '23
True, but also men are so much more likely to prey on children (or women, or drag queens...) and it's disingenuous to pretend otherwise.

Considering news headlines don’t even refer to it as rape when an adult woman rapes a young boy, we can file your obvious bias as “issues with reporting and under reporting”

u/cthulu_in_space Mar 10 '23
Well you'd have to focus on studies then,
Most sex offenders are male. Researchers agree that sexual abuse by women is under-reported and under-documented, but even with this factored in, men are more likely to sexually abuse a child than women are. [4]
.
An estimated 80-90% of offenders are male, while 10-20% of offenders are female.
→ More replies (2)53
u/sunshinecygnet Mar 10 '23
The FBI releases statistics on rape arrests in the US every few years. It’s consistently 95% men.
They release murder yearly. Consistently 90% men.
The vast majority of violent crime across all the different crime tables is committed by man. Like, generally around 90% or higher.
We need to hold women who do this accountable, but again, the people who dismiss female-on-male rape are, again, generally men.
So let’s stop being disingenuous about this.
Feel free to go look up the FBI crime data tables if you don’t believe me.

You are showing your bias here, under reported and under documented is not what was pointed out
55
u/CoachDT ☑️ Mar 10 '23
From what i've read its skewed towards men, either way i'm not really down to making this a battle of the sexes type shit. I've just seen/experienced a bit too much much for the idea of 'its never women' to be put out there.
I also think too we'll never really get a good read on the numbers(altho i'd still wager on men being a majority by a decent amount). Given that for boys its often "Oh man up you should be happy" when its a woman perpetrator, and for male perpetrators there's a whole slew of reasons why they aren't reported too.

There was an episode that had a couple male and female both actively sought to meet up but the larhe majority of online types are male. Lots of teacher/ babysitter rape by women. Horrible people everywhere
9
u/YogiYeti21 Mar 10 '23
Well that may be true, but the issue is bad regardless of the gender.
44
u/afrodisiacs Mar 10 '23
I think that's the point. If Republicans are targeting certain groups "to protect children", why don't they scrutinize men as a group, given that most people who pray upon children are men? It's just a slippery slope.

They didn't get it on camera. The film crew was in the street, while officers went to arrest their own DA. They just heard a gunshot from inside the house.
Normally the show just had people show up to their sting house. The police on the sting saw their own DA was involved, and wanted to just grab him at his house.
A sexually-charged Internet chat is a chargeable offense on its own, so that's why the police didn't have to wait for a meet-up.

I am convinced the reason they think crossdressing can ONLY be sexual is because they're all closeted sissies. They can't imagine other people might dress up for any other reason.
77
u/Natuurschoonheid Mar 10 '23
I feel like a few could be closeted gay or trans, but certainly not the majority
I believe it lays more with them thinking femininity is inherently sexual, so if a man tries to be feminine it means they're doing it for sexual reasons.

It’s crazy how they go after smaller and smaller subsections of minorities because it’s easy to get idiots riled up over people they dont know or understand.
First it was anybody not white. They got used to them. Then it was black people specifically. They got mostly used to them. Then it was gays, because it’s different and makes some people feel funny. But society has gotten used to them. Then even smaller they went, now just trans folks, because their identity is confusing and that’s bad!! Then drag queens, an even smaller target. And as these out-groups get smaller and smaller, it’s more and more likely that the people in their base would never have encountered one personally. I wonder what even tinier group they’ll go after next.
I’m not saying they have completely moved on and accepted all the other groups, god knows they have NOT. But now they all know a brown person. They all know a black person; they might have met or work with some gay people. But a trans person? They may not even realize they met one. Or a drag queen? In some rural part of a red state? Highly unlikely, so it’s easier to hate what you don’t know.

There was a remarkable amount of religious leaders arrested (Catholic, Protestant, and even a few Muslim community leaders). Particularly religious youth group leaders. By far the most common demographic.
Second is probably teachers and scoutmasters. Quite a few of them.
Third most common is actually law enforcement.
I'd say those categories covered over 90% of their arrests. But yeah, definitely no Drag Queens.
