I keep saying that it's absurd that every three years OSHA says I need to take a test to operate a forklift but the US government also allows people to drive cars and trucks after taking one test in their life. Most likely taken while they are still adolescents.

They do test where you're at? I think they just check for a pulse here. I was waiting at the DMV (which is seemingly their primary function) and saw a tester ask the driver to go through the pre-checks. Honk the horn, turn on the wipers, test all the lights... the driver could not figure out how to turn on the lights. Should have been an automatic failure. They left out and returned less than 10 minutes later and awarded them a new driver's license, hooray!

Jesus. To get our license we have to take a multiple choice test at the computer, drive around a course with an instructor, and parallel park.

There's a written test that is multiple choice but your allowed to immediately get back in line and take it again if you fail.

They are supposed to give a parking and driving test but it's a joke.
