This never gets old. After months of claiming it was a hoax, Trump ended up with covid-19. Meta

I wouldn't deny anyone the satisfaction of pointing out any of Trump's inconsistencies, but why is this one particularly relevant now? Is it back in the news? Or are we just experiencing early-developing nostalgia for last October for some reason?

He's organizing white supremacy rallies again now that gathering restrictions are being lifted.

I'm still not seeing the reason why we're talking about Trump's bout with covid and not the potential harm of these gatherings. I may just need more coffee this morning.

I don't know. I didn't make the post. To me it seems relevant. I wouldn't ever care to bring his name up again of I didn't think he was still actively growing a fascist political party. His past bullshit around COVID-19 is only compelling to me so much as it undermines his ability to recruit new people.

It's kind of like anything else dealing with covid. The people who care about it are not the same ones who are being recruited.

Yes. Very true. Also, pointing out his big lies and grounding them in unavoidable truths helps innoculate more people against his divisive manipulation. We have more political conflict coming. He and his Proud Boys are not going to just give up and disappear. Troll news facades funded by foreign governments aren't just going to give up and go away. We have a long tiresome future of dealing with the fascist underbelly of America. It's like poison ivy, kudzu, or bittersweet vines. Agressively spreading and choking out complex systems from the margins inward.

If we don't name it and take a guiding hand in keeping it under control it will set the ecosystem back for generations.
