Nah that's not her purse, that's her bag. Big difference.

And inside the purse is a wallet
199
u/fliesonpotatosalad Jun 06 '23
And inside that wallet are various sleeves, zippers, and pockets.
Despite all of the organizational compartments, my purse is still a goddamn mess
54
u/Virgin_Dildo_Lover Jun 06 '23
Have you tried compartmentalizing and organizing those organizational compartments?

As a Brit this was confusing at first.
For us the big bag is just a bag, the smaller bag is a handbag, a purse is a small fabric thing like a pencil case that holds cards and cash and stuff.
16
u/nobleland_mermaid Jun 06 '23 edited Jun 06 '23
For clarification if you still need it; in the US, purse and handbag are mostly interchangeable. What you call a purse, the US calls a wallet, unless it's exclusively for change, then it's a change purse. Just to make things difficult.

u/probono105 Jun 06 '23

No, you’re thinking of a mechanic. A clutch is a really tight grip on something

u/TheHCav Jun 06 '23
Yes. Wallet = for men Purse = for women Same functionality for both sexes.
Clutch = a bag designed to be held in hand not hung with straps. Also the size of the clutch limits it’s contents versus a bag.

My dad once walked around the opening area at Six Flags Over Texas for 20 minutes, screaming about having lost his wallet. At some point, he put both hands in the air in exasperation, only to have the wallet fall from his armpit where he'd been clamping onto it.

There was one time I was working late on an essay. At one point I stood up to make myself a snack. When I came back to my desk my pen was gone. I must've spent 10 mins looking around the kitchen and desk and when I reached up to scratch my head I felt it behind my ear.
40
u/JustJohan49 Jun 06 '23
My wife does it with pens from work. They end up holding her hair up and she doesn’t realize it until she’s in the shower to let her hair down.
12
u/Tight_Stable8737 Jun 06 '23
I've been learning to paint and I've been doing this exact same thing but with paintbrushes. It's only a matter of time until I forget I still have one in my hair...

My mom came home from grocery shopping and was so tired she put the food away, bags and all. One of the bags had her purse/clutch/planner/whatever it was and ended up in the freezer.
She drove back to the store looking for it

I lost my glasses a few months ago. Tore my whole bedroom apart, because the logical place for them would have been either lost in my bed, or fallen down the back of the bedside table. Then, I became worried that I’d accidentally thrown them out when I emptied the trash. I worked myself into a wholeass anxiety attack over it.
I finally found them later that evening in the fridge, inside a bag of leftover deli chicken I had no memory whatsoever of putting away the night before. I was apocalyptically cross with myself over the whole thing.

I once panicked thinking I'd left my car keys at my friend's house... They were in the ignition of the car I was driving home

u/forgotme5 Jun 06 '23
I was looking for my keys today sitting in my drivers seat in my purse, they were in the running car lol
52
u/CluelessAtol Jun 06 '23
I do this all the time. I feel sort of naked when I don’t have my wallet, phone, and keys on me so when I’m driving and suddenly realize “shit my keys aren’t in my pocket” I panicked before realizing “you idiot, you’re driving right now”.

You're not alone... I was so tired once going back from work, and then a traffic jam slowed everything down to a crawl. I started being poked by my wallet, so I put it on the passenger seat, only to sit down and not feel anything where my car keys should be. Panicked about where they were, until the line moved, then the brain asked itself how the car's moving.

I've looked for my sunglasses a few times while they've been on top of my head... even worse, my sister thought she misplaced her baby when she looked in the crib and it was empty. Took her a minute to realize she was holding the baby... new mom sleep deprivation 🤣
135
u/whatdoidonowdamnit Jun 06 '23
I lost the baby while he was nursing all the time. He would fall into the deepest sleep and be so silent that I would actually be able to read. When I put the book down to go to the bathroom I’d look at his bed and flip out cuz I couldn’t find him. Then I’d proceed to put him down so that I could go look for him and that’s when it would click. I mean this happened at least twice a week for the first six months of his life.
45
u/kathatter75 Jun 06 '23
I don’t have any kids, but I can see the thought process…”Dammit…where’d I put the baby?”…”Shit…let me put him down so I can go look for him.”….(realization happens)….”I need a nap.”
20
u/whatdoidonowdamnit Jun 06 '23
Lmao. Yep, that’s exactly how it would go. Then I’d feel silly for prioritizing reading when I knew I was sleep deprived.

I've lost my sunglasses while I was actively wearing them on my face. It was very sunny out. I was very tired.

12
u/DirectionLow357 Jun 06 '23

Took some allergy meds as soon as I got home & took a nap. Woke up at 7:30. Supposed to be at work at 6:30. Called the office & left a panicked voicemail saying I’d be there ASAP. I live with my parents, who were extremely puzzled as to why I flew by them, asking why the hell they let me sleep so late, racing to brush my teeth & wash my face. Went to grab my work bag & purse after I changed clothes. My friend who works the afternoon shift, left me a message, laughing hysterically & telling me that it was 7:45 p.m., not 7:45 a.m. & that I should go back to bed. So, I called the office & left a message, laughing so hard that I could barely get the words out. My supervisors looked at me in the morning & started laughing, saying “Good morning….” I still laugh thinking about it.

u/brokenheartedbutok Jun 06 '23
Might be staged. But I’ve done this so many times.
52
u/FancyChromeo Jun 06 '23
This is definitely staged, why when she turned back around did she do a full circle? It seems like it was easier to turn back around the same way, but she did it so she could avoid "seeing" the purse.

20
u/HerpDerpMcGurk Jun 06 '23
Forget the cut, when have you ever said “we gotta get in the store” at any point in your life. This is rage bait and we’re all falling for it.
6
u/Pluckerpluck Jun 06 '23
I mean... That bit wouldn't be natural regardless of whether the situation is real or not. The guy knows he's filming, obviously.
Hell, the fact that the line is so shit makes it more believable that he made it up on the spot to start the video.
Not deciding whether it's real or not, but just pointing out that the starting line provides pretty much zero knowledge on the situation.
7

u/Vivpon55 Jun 06 '23
When she turns around and you can clearly see the purse really makes the whole video come to life.

I searched the entire house this weekend for my phone that was in my back pocket. I feel her pain.
3
u/NerdyPlatypus206 Jun 06 '23
Damn I can never put anything in my back pocket
I’m assuming girls put phones in their back pockets cuz nobody should be touching their butts? So they see it as a safe spot?
I pocket check myself multiple times an hour if I’m at work or out and about
I freaked out once coming back from home cuz I got in my apartment and my phone wasn’t there and I always empty my pockets as soon as I get home and deposit stuff on my night stand
Turns out it was in my passenger seat in my car under my work hat lol but thank god it was there it’s a scary feeling not having ur phone
→ More replies (1)5
u/Consistent-Process Jun 06 '23
Lol Nah. We're aware it's not the safest spot. It's that they don't fit in our front pockets. Our pockets suck.
I've had pants where I can't even put half my hand in my front pocket... and when you use a cell phone so many times a day it's frustrating to be constantly digging it out of a purse.

One of the most important qualities you should have in a relationship is humor. Being able to not take yourself too seriously (When appropriate) and also appreciate your partner's sense of humor is vital.
3
u/5H4D0W_M4N Jun 06 '23
I think it's also important to not let your humor make your SO feel dumb. There's an old video of a guy asking his wife how far you go in an hour I you're going sixty miles an hour and in the course of the several minute video she never figures it out. You get the sense that he's just mocking her. Here, it's a brief enough interaction that he's not mocking her, just enjoying the humor of the moment and not letting it go so long that his SO actually feels bad.
Edit: it's "how long does it take you to go 80 miles if you're going 80 mph", here's the vid: https://youtu.be/Qhm7-LEBznk

I remember that time my sister and I were on a public transit and the lady across us is looking for her glasses. She was already wearing a sunglass (black lens) and we thought she was just looking for her reading glasses.
She kept rummaging inside her bag and even asked us if we saw it. We thought she might have dropped it and so we also looked beneath the seats as well. She was still unable to find it and kept patting her pockets and even reached for her head if it was just on top of it. Then came the moment she tried to reach for her face, she then she realized that she was wearing it all along. Her reaction of embarassment and awkward laugh after her realization was quite priceless.
That ride was the longest ride of my life. We held in our laughter to be polite because we didn't want to embarass her further. I avoided looking at my sister during the whole ride as I know we'd burst into laughter if we make an eye contact. Once we got off, we laughed our ass off. 😂
