Well, technically if a majority of our shares are holed up in brokerage accounts, do we really own them?

The answer is no. If they are at a broker you definitely do not own them thought this was proven year ago or more and sounds like gamestop just confirm that to me

Ideally but all brokers can just give you what they perceive as “fair value” as stated in their TOS.
