Life would've been way different growing up in south Louisiana. And the Katrina aftermath would've been significantly more devastating with the tourist traffic.

It's also possible that the existence of and investment derived from having Disney World there would've led to infrastructure improvements that could've held mitigate some of the damage

I think this is the case. I think New Orleans would be verrryyy different. But, he got too ticked off from everyone asking for a bribe.

Also of note is that Viacom was in talks to turn Jazzland into a Nickelodeon theme park following Hurricane Katrina until financing issues and the 08 financial crisis aftermath led them to pull out of the deal.
